At the Tourist Information, cyclists then follow the cycle path signs to the right until they leave the town. At the first junction out of town, turn right and cycle gently uphill through a picturesque landscape. After about four kilometers, turn right again onto a forest path that leads to the idyllic Faulensee. The body of water, surrounded by dense forest and located between the Hopfensee and Forggensee, exudes a special peace and invites you to unwind. The cozy Faulenseehütte is located here, which is ideal for a first break. Cyclists can fortify themselves with delicious snacks, hearty soups and stews or home-smoked trout before continuing the tour.
Then you continue to follow the forest path that leads you to Rieden am Forggensee. You drive through the town, take the cycle path on the right on the main road and then follow the cycle signs to get to Osterreinen. From here, the excursionists cycle directly along the banks of the Forggensee - the largest lake in the Allgäu - to Café Maria and further towards Füssen. Lake Forggensee is a popular leisure area in summer and autumn, ideal for swimming, water sports or cycling on the shore. From June to October, two passenger boats operate on the lake several times a day, offering tours and also transporting bicycles. The boat trip on Lake Forggensee is one of the most popular in Bavaria and is definitely recommended. In Füssen, cyclists take the right exit at the first roundabout at the church to return to Hopfen.
