If you don't like traveling alone, you can take part in guided tours and let the guides take you to the most beautiful places in the region. An ideal time to get to know the hiking paradise Füssen-Weißensee is autumn, when the temperatures are still pleasant, but no longer quite so warm and the Allgäu picture-book landscape is wrapped in a colorful dress. We would like to introduce you to some attractive autumn hikes around Füssen-Weißensee here.

Start your autumn holiday comfortably and hike around the turquoise waters on the Weißensee circular path for about an hour and a half. The start and finish point is the outdoor swimming pool Weißensee on the western Seeufer. From here you follow the circular route in an easterly direction and can enjoy the view of picturesque meadows and magnificent mountains. On the mountain side you pass through a shady forest and walk past wildly romantic streams. It's worth walking a little west along the lake from Oberkirch to reach the path that leads to the mysterious Alatsee, which has been the setting for well-known Allgäu crime novels. The romantically located Alatsee, surrounded by dense forest, can be walked around in half an hour. On its northern bank, a path leads in around 40 minutes up to the rustic Salober Alm, which pampers its guests with delicious Allgäu delicacies on a sunny terrace from which there is a dream view of the foothills of the Alps.

A little more demanding is the approximately two-hour tour that leads to the Falkenstein mountain, on which Germany's highest castle ruins stand. From the Weißensee outdoor pool you first go via Oberkirch and the Alte Steige to Wiesmar. A small tar road branches off from the B310 to Benken. After you have passed a few houses, a path on the left climbs through a forest up to Falkenstein. The Falkenstein castle ruins are one of the most beautiful sights in the Allgäu and provide an unforgettable panoramic view of the idyllic foothills of the Alps.

The family-friendly Three Castles Tour offers sightseeing and scenic enjoyment at its finest, the starting and finishing point of which is the Füssener Tourist Information. This hiking tour, which is particularly attractive in autumn, leads past the royal castles Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau into the romantic old town of Füssen to the High Castle. The summit of the Kalvarienberg and the impressive Lechfall are further highlights of the tour.

This was just a small selection of charming autumn hikes around Füssen-Weißensee. Here you can set off on countless beautiful hikes, stop off in rustic huts and enjoy pure Gipfelglück. Hiking in this area of Allgäu is truly a treat for all the senses.
