The absolute highlight is a ride with the Gräner mountain railway to the Füssener Jöchle, where you can enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the Allgäu near the summit and make yourself comfortable on the sun terrace of an alpine pasture. Since this tour is a certain length, families should only undertake it with older children. The start and finish point of the Alpine Valleys circuit, for which you should plan around three and a half hours, is the Tourist Information in Füssen. If you arrive by car, you can park your car in the P5 “City/Sparkasse” car park in the immediate vicinity of the Tourist Information. Free parking spaces are available at the Federal Ice Hockey Performance Center in Füssen.

First, this bike tour goes from the Tourist Information in Füssen to the Pfrontener Vilstal. You pass the picturesque Weißensee, which is located in the very rural Füssen district of the same name. If you want, you can take a short break here and enjoy nature and the view of the impressive mountains in one of the numerous quiet, romantic spots along the banks. On warm summer days you also have the opportunity to plunge into the turquoise, clean water in the Weißensee outdoor pool and treat yourself to a little cooling down. While in the Pfrontener Vilstal you'll initially see a car approaching you here and there, the tour continues on quiet farm and forest roads through a dream landscape. Magnificent views of green meadows and forests as well as the magnificent mountains of the Allgäu are omnipresent. Here you cycle very close to the Falkenstein castle ruins, which are one of the top sights of the Allgäu due to their exposed altitude.

Fairy Tale King Ludwig II bought the ruins in the 80 years of 19. Century to build a kind of second castle Neuschwanstein from it. Only his sudden death in the year 1886 prevented this plan. Before the bike tour continues, you can of course fortify yourself with refreshing drinks and all sorts of Tyrolean and Allgäu delicacies. The Alpine Valleys circuit then runs pleasantly downhill through the Enge and Achtal valleys to Pfronten-Steinach. Here you are back in the Vilstal and cycle on the Zirmenweg north of the Vills to the Ulrichsbrücke and then through the Lechtal back to Füssen.
