The starting point of the tour is the Bärenfalle inn in the small Tyrolean town of Roßschläg near Musau. You can get there from the A7 by taking the Vils exit and following the directions to Musau. The federal highways B16 and B310. also lead to the Vils exit via the Füssen bypass. You can also get to Füssen via the B17 and if you turn left onto the B189 just before the Lech bridge, you will also arrive in Musau. If you want to travel by train, first take a train to Füssen and then take the bus line 74 to Reutte and get off at the Roßschläg stop. Drivers will find plenty of free parking spaces at the Bärenfalle inn.
The Reintal tour initially runs from Roßschläg along a well-developed forest path uphill to the Musauer Alm. You hike through a wonderfully picturesque mountain landscape with pleasantly pure air and beautiful views of lush green alpine meadows. The panorama of the Tannheim mountains, which rise impressively into the sky, is omnipresent. There is a particularly impressive view of the steep north faces of the Tannheim Alps just before the Musauer Alm. Queen Marie climbed the 19. The Füssener Hut is a popular meeting point for hikers and mountaineers who set off on summit tours from here.
If you want to extend the Reintal tour, you can reach the summits of the 2059 meter-high Große Schlicke and the 1968 meter-high Schartschrofen in just over an hour and a half. These two tours are suitable for anyone with a bit of fitness. The tours to the Rote Flüh, the Gimpel and the Gehrenspitze and Kellenspitze mentioned above are more suitable for experienced mountaineers.
If these mountain tours seem too demanding for you, you have the opportunity to take at least one small peak with you on the way back from the Füssener hut to the Bärenfalle inn. If you turn onto the hut road shortly after the Musauer Alm, you will reach the Achilles, a small foothill of the Schlicken massif. Queen Marie once climbed this too; On the occasion of this, she founded her own Alpine Rose Order. You should plan around an additional hour for this mountain tour.
