The starting and finishing point of this approximately 12 kilometer-long cross-border hike, which is also suitable for families with older children, is the Schluxen estate in the Tyrolean town of Unterpinswang. From Füssen-Weißensee you can reach the starting point in just a few minutes by car via the B17.
You start your hike at the Schluxen estate, in the 19. Here at the summit you will find a viewing platform that offers you a magnificent panorama of the city of Füssen and the surrounding Alpine foothills. After you have enjoyed this view, continue hiking to the Lechfall, where you will be offered the next special impressions. Roaring masses of water plunge twelve meters down over several steps and create an impressive natural spectacle. You have the best view of it from the King Max footbridge, which leads directly over the waterfall. From the Lechfall the tour continues to the Ziegelwies forest adventure center.
The Ziegelwies Forest Adventure Center is one of the most popular family excursion destinations in the region with its interesting educational trails in the forest, various entertainment options for young and old, and indoor exhibitions on the subject of nature. A walk on the treetop path, which runs at lofty heights from treetop to treetop, promises to be particularly fun. Here at the forest adventure center, the Königsschleife takes you back to Austrian territory via the historic “Weißhaus” border crossing. Finally, you hike back to the starting point on the Schlachtweg, which you reach again after about three and a half hours.
